What I learned about life hacks with socks

A couple of years ago, I got tired of having to buy socks whenever they became dirty or worn out. So I decided to get a sock subscription instead! It’s been such a great idea ever since. These days, there are so many socks subscriptions to choose from online, which makes it really easy to start using them as part of your own personal life hacks strategy. Here are the 5 best sock subscriptions on the market today! You won’t believe how simple it will be to use them as part of your life hacks arsenal!

Life Hack 1 - Ditch the dryer sheet

Did you know that your clothes don’t need to be dryer sheeted? After washing, lay your clothes out flat to dry and you can skip that step. This will cut down on laundry detergent as well. The chemicals in a standard dryer sheet can irritate sensitive skin, so if that’s an issue for you, there is no reason not to ditch them. If you have pets or children and want something fresh smelling in your laundry anyway, try baking soda! Sprinkle a bit of it in before tossing things into the machine and let it do its thing. You can also add lemon peels or ground up lavender buds if that’s more your style.

Life Hack 2 - Keep dirty shoes out of sight

Nobody likes stepping on a dirty old pair of socks that have been left in plain sight; that’s just nasty. So toss them into your shoes to keep them fresh and clean. Not only will your shoes smell great but you won’t have to worry about seeing an old pair of socks when you sit down at your desk. The next time you take off your shoes, throw away those old smelly socks and toss in a new pair so they don’t get mixed up again!

Life Hack 3 - Store thin things like wrapping paper in a sock

by storing thin things in a sock, you can use up less space and get them out again when you need them. This is good to know for instance if you are not using that wrapping paper and want to store it until next year. Storing it in a sock means that it’s not just lying around. Alternatively, if you have too much wrapping paper, then putting some of it in a sock allows you to take out just what you need for an occasion rather than leaving all of it at home and risk having too much lying around. Throwing away one or two very old pieces of wrapping paper also reduces your clutter and makes sure you don’t end up having just one single piece left over.

Life Hack 4 - Freezer pack for fruit bowls

The next time you want to add a touch of colour to your fruit bowl, don’t run out and buy an expensive water-filled fruit bowl. Just place whatever colourful fruits you have into a large freezer bag and pour in enough water (use juice if you want it sweetened) to almost fill it up. Seal up your freezer bag and then place it back into your fruit bowl. Now, whenever you open your fridge to get some fruit or drink, you’ll be greeted by a cheerful colourful display!

Life Hack 5 - Protect electronic cords from pets and kids

Place your electronic cords and small wires inside a sock. Tie it closed, and your pet can’t chew on it, and kids will stay away. This is an easy way to protect cables from pets and kids that you don’t even need to store anywhere special; just leave them in any room where you have electronic gear.
