What Your Socks Say About You
What do your socks say about you? Since February is National sock of the month Club month, now’s the perfect time to think about that question, and also time to start thinking about which brand of socks you want to keep on your feet this winter season! Fortunately, there are plenty of sock subscription services to choose from online, all of which offer a monthly delivery of new and different pairs to keep you stylish and warm throughout the cold months.
If you’re looking for a way to differentiate yourself from your peers, one good way is to tweak your look with accessories. Dress socks come in all colors and patterns nowadays; use them as a way to say I don’t dress like everyone else. It will make an impression on your interviewer and could help show off personality traits that might not be on display in other parts of your ensemble. For example, if you choose bold patterned socks with an otherwise neutral suit, it could show that you have flair and aren’t afraid to think outside of the box.
Thin athletic socks
The look on your feet says that you’re a no-nonsense type of person who doesn’t have time for nonsense. Whether you play sports or just enjoy moving around, your energetic personality is obvious by looking at your socks. If you like to run around town and get lots of stuff done, these are probably perfect for you. It would also be appropriate if you lead a life that requires constant movement and energy, even outside of physical activity (like say, if you’re a travel blogger or something). Bottom line: Thin athletic socks are best for people with busy lifestyles and active mindsets.
White ankle socks
Wear your white ankle socks with caution. Are you trying to make a fashion statement or have you just simply lost your other clean pair of socks? Either way, white socks scream out I’m not trying. People will judge you and think that you’re lazy. As a company executive, I do not hire people wearing white ankle socks because I know their level of dedication to our company goals is minimal. White ankle socks are for young people who need protection from dirty floors at work or school – no one over 18 should be wearing them!
Warm weather socks
When summer rolls around, you don’t have to put your feet in a tight and uncomfortable sock. Comfort is key when it comes to socks, and there are few that can rival a good pair of mesh or cotton cycling socks. Not only will these keep your feet cool, but they’ll help ensure that you enjoy a smooth pedaling motion as well. If you want to sport something a little more adventurous, look into some knee-high or calf-high hikers—though they might not match your favorite suit pants.
Low-cut casual socks
When you're buying a pair of low-cut casual socks, comfort is likely your top priority. Low-cut casual socks typically sit below the ankle and are made from combed cotton, which not only feels great on your feet but also tends to be more affordable than fancier fabrics. So whether you’re lacing up to go for a run or heading to happy hour after work, these versatile options will keep your feet comfy throughout. Now, if low-cut means low-maintenance for you, then your next purchase should be a pair of all-cotton socks that come in at least nine different colors and patterns—trust us: they’ll be easy on your eyes as well as on your feet.
Knee high socks
A colorful pair of knee high socks will give a fun, creative feel to any outfit. For women, these can be a playful addition to any number of outfits. For men, they can be worn with jeans and a button-down shirt to show off your quirky side. No matter who you are or what you’re wearing them with, knee high socks are sure to get noticed! They have a unique look that is sure to match any personality. These socks may not be for everyone – and that’s okay! Remember that just because something doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean it isn’t going to work for someone else. Don’t knock them until you try them; they may end up becoming your new favorite socks!
Light hiking socks
Getting out into nature is a great way to relax and unwind, but if you’re going on a hike, it’s important to have hiking socks on your feet. Not only will good hiking socks keep you comfortable while you walk, they’ll also protect your feet from rocks and other sharp objects that might be hidden in grass or dirt. Hiking socks come in many different weights; choosing ones made of merino wool is always a good idea as they are light enough for warm weather but offer more cushioning than thinner varieties. Merino wool tends to wick moisture away from your skin, which keeps things dry without overheating you.
Stocking footed liners
Our feet play a major role in our day-to-day lives, which is why we should protect them as much as possible. Stocking footed liners are soft and comfortable. And since they’re made with Merino wool, they also provide moisture control to keep your feet feeling dry even if you don’t have time to take off your shoes for a quick change of socks. They come in dozens of colors, so you can find a pair that matches any outfit. Plus, there are no laces, so you can put them on and take them off easily—and fast! If speed is essential for you but comfort isn’t an issue, stocking footed liners might be just what you need to keep up with your busy schedule.
