The 10 Best Ways to Wear No Show Socks

The 10 Best Ways to Wear No Show Socks

Now that the weather’s getting colder, the last thing you want to be dealing with are chafing and blisters from your regular, run-of-the-mill socks. No show socks solve that problem while also providing an opportunity to keep your feet warm, too! With so many no show sock companies out there, it can be difficult to know where to begin if you’re thinking about signing up for a sock of the month subscription service. Here are 10 tips to help you choose the best socks subscription and save time by having great no show socks delivered right to your door!

1) Fitted Tops

As flattering as they are comfortable, fitted tops add a feminine touch to your professional look. Tuck them into skirts and pants or pair them with jeans and a cardigan. Tops in thicker fabrics can be worn under sweaters, while those made of finer fabrics will keep you cool when temperatures rise. Although it’s best not to match socks to tops that are solid-colored, pairing no show socks with bottoms in vivid hues is certainly acceptable!

2) Plain White Tees

If you’re looking for a super-simple outfit, then plain white tees are a great way to go. Pair them with anything from a pair of blue jeans, shorts or sweatpants, depending on how dressed up you want to look. And if plain white isn’t your thing, there are plenty of options out there for non-traditional colours and styles as well. Look for long sleeve versions in cold weather and short sleeves in warmer months. Also be sure that whatever option you choose fits well and feels comfortable so you don’t have to worry about any unwanted attention when wearing them.

3) Statement Shirts

First, you have to find a pair of socks that actually fit correctly. If they’re too long, they’ll peek out under your pants; if they’re too short, your ankles will be left bare and vulnerable to people stepping on them (speaking from experience here). While we don’t usually advocate for wearing socks with sandals, we think statement shirts are an exception—they help break up what could otherwise be a pretty staid look. If you can manage it, go bold or make it colourful (preferably both).

4) Outfits for the Gym

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: Believe it or not, there are some outfits that are best left at home. We all have favorite gym clothes that we can’t live without—but if you don’t want to turn heads for all of the wrong reasons (cue stare downs in your direction) then you should definitely check out our list of DOs and DON'Ts for what to wear when working out. Not sure what's appropriate?

5) Casual Daily Wear

Day-to-day wear doesn’t require any special gear, but casual socks can add some flair. Try wearing argyle socks with a pair of jeans and a graphic tee or tuck them under dress slacks for work. Sock color is key. Bright colors like red, green, and blue look good when worn with navy or black shoes and dark denim. Navy/gray/black socks complement pretty much every outfit combination you could dream up—from polos to button-downs to long sleeve shirts. The same goes for solid colors; they pair well with everything from khakis to chinos. When it comes down to it, patterned or solid: Anything goes!

6) Winter Wear

If you’re looking for a way to stay warm during winter, stock up on no show socks. These little essentials can be worn with your favorite sneakers or boots and keep your feet toasty even in frigid weather. To top it off, no show socks come in some of most fun colors so you can incorporate them into your style without making it too bold. There are so many ways you can wear these that we’ve put together a list of our ten favorites. Check out our picks below!

7) Sneakers

Shoes are essential for every man. They can help complete your entire look and make you feel confident, while they give you a necessary sense of authority. But some shoes do more than just look good—they have hidden features that only true men know about. Sneakers with no-show socks actually aren’t really called no-show socks, but there’s a reason why they’re named that way: they don’t show in your sneakers at all! To see how it works, check out these tips for wearing them properly.

8) Boots

One of my favorite ways to wear no show socks is with a pair of ankle boots. You can either choose a pair that's already made for wearing no shows, or you can tuck them into tall boots if they're not. The key here is to not have your sock pop out at any point in time—otherwise it’s just too distracting! Choose some cute knee-high booties (like these great ones from Target) or sexy ankle boots like these amazing Stuart Weitzman versions. Then, throw on a fun colored no show and you’re ready for all kinds of events!

9) Dress Shoes

What You Need to Know About Wearing Socks With Dress Shoes To keep your dress shoes looking their best, there are a few simple rules of thumb. For one, you don’t want to wear no-show socks with dress shoes. They may be thin and barely noticeable, but over time, wearing no-show socks will leave telltale impressions on your leather footwear that can’t be easily undone. If you must wear no-show socks with dress shoes – say for sports or exercise – opt for thicker socks that won’t sink into your sole and cause indents. And speaking of colour, it goes without saying that bright, multi-coloured patterns are out of place in most office settings.

10) Black and White Outfits

The best way to get away with a single pair of no-show socks is, you guessed it, an all-black or all-white outfit.
