Sock Subscriptions For The Unique Bride-To-Be

With wedding season in full swing, brides everywhere are on the hunt for the perfect wedding accessories that will make their special day stand out from the rest. In an attempt to deliver the perfect one-of-a-kind gift, some wedding party members might opt to send the bride-to-be with a sock subscription service. Yes, you read that correctly, a sock subscription service—and no, it’s not just an April Fool’s joke!

Choosing sock styles

If you're torn between different styles of socks, consider what you want your bridesmaids to wear on your big day. If you're having a daytime event, a few pairs of bright colorful knee socks or anklets might be perfect! On the other hand, if it's an evening affair, perhaps traditional dress socks are more your style. Don't hesitate to get creative and make them all work together. You can always ask a close friend or family member with excellent taste in fashion for their advice! Whatever colors and styles you choose for your bridesmaids' wedding accessories, there's no need to stop there.

Choosing fabrics

Fabric is, of course, one of the most important elements in a sock. It’s also one of those features that can make or break a design. According to Melissa Cappelli, an industrial designer for My Sorrie Socks (who also just happens to be engaged), choosing which fabrics to use was one of her biggest challenges. Since all our socks are custom made and since we have clients from all over North America, finding fabric has been difficult, she says. Choosing a functional but unique cloth can be an exercise in frustration because there are so many factors you have to take into account. Is it too thin? Too thick? Will it hold up for long enough?

Choosing heel heights

Choosing your heel height will depend on how formal you’re going to be and how long your feet are. If you know you’ll be standing for hours, it might be wise to have a lower heel height. But if you’re simply running from one place to another, find a cute pump that makes your legs look fabulous. You could go high or low, just make sure it fits with what you’re wearing. Also, choose something that works well with your everyday lifestyle and doesn’t feel like torture by making your feet ache all day! These days there are so many colors and styles to choose from, that finding something that works for your personal style is easy.

Choosing sock lengths

Socks can be dressed up or down, but if you’re not comfortable with being barefoot in public (or if it’s just not socially acceptable), opt for mid-calf socks. They are a classic length that is versatile and suits just about any occasion—and they won’t break an ankle or expose too much skin. If you prefer to avoid exposed ankles, longer socks such as knee-highs or over-the-knee styles could be a good fit for your wardrobe. Choose bright colors for a fun pop of style, but don’t overdo it and stick to one or two bold colors so your legs don’t look like an Easter egg hunt gone wrong.
