sock of the month Subscriptions: The 5 Best Ways to Fold Your Socks

The sock of the month club is one of the greatest innovations in fashion, but many don’t realize that there are many unique ways to fold socks to make it easier to store them and reduce wrinkles over time. These 5 unique ways to fold your socks will ensure that your socks always look great in your sock drawer and are ready to wear when you need them!

1) The Muffin Method

This technique, often called The Muffin Method, is a no-brainer and a great way to fold socks if you’re in a hurry. Simply gather your dirty socks together and, starting with your larger sock, wrap it like you would a muffin. Then nestle all other socks inside as best you can; repeat with remaining pair. When all is said and done, you should have two pairs of socks tucked neatly into one (or vice versa). For easy organization—and an incredibly simple method—it’s hard to beat.

2) One-Sided Folding

This is a simple method that's perfect for socks that don't match or socks you want to organize by color. Just roll your sock over onto itself once, then fold it again so it stays in place. Then hang it up and admire your handiwork! This is one of our favorite methods because if you have any mismatched socks, they'll stick out like a sore thumb. It also allows you to quickly find which pairs are together just by checking either side of your sock drawer (hence its name). If one side has pairings, flip them over and check their other sides. Alternatively, if there aren't any matches on either side, feel free to keep them separated since there probably isn't anything in common between two unlike items anyway!

3) Zipped Laundry Bag Method

Inside out, fold a sock in half lengthwise and place it into a zipped laundry bag, with right sides together. When you turn it inside out again, you’ll have a double sock that's still wearable. You can use any other kind of bag besides a laundry bag; many people opt for gallon-sized plastic freezer bags or vacuum sealer bags. Just remember that since these won't be washed after being turned inside out, they'll need to be disposed of once you're done wearing them.

4) Accordion Style

Accordion style is all about making sure you get as much use out of your socks as possible. Start by rolling your socks lengthwise (from toe to heel) and stuffing them into one another so that they form an accordion shape. By rolling and stacking multiple pairs like that, you’ll find there’s a lot more space in each sock for your stuff—which should make it much easier to fit everything into a suitcase or bag without worrying about cramming. 5) Stocking Stuffer Method

This sock folding method is a fun way to keep your favorite pair around longer. With its unique style, you can create cute little stuffed animals that remind you of winter activities. This method will stretch out your socks, but it’s also quick and easy! First off, fold your sock in half by bringing both ends toward each other. Roll up one end just like you would with a sleeping bag or piece of tape and secure it with a rubber band. This will act as your face for whatever kind of animal you want!
