Method of sock folding can tell you quite a bit about someone, even if you don’t see the socks that often. We all have different theories on how to fold our socks, and we all have different reasons for folding them the way we do. With that in mind, we’ve set out to make an exhaustive list of the five best ways to fold your socks, categorized by the types of people who like those kinds of folds. Here’s what we found!

1) Roll Them

If you're like me, you have a pile or two of socks that are just waiting for their time on your feet. But, if you're like me, it's easy to get distracted by other things and forget about those socks until they've been sitting there for weeks. That's why I'm so excited to share with you these five great ways to fold your socks!

1) The Pairs Method - With this method, all your socks are folded into pairs by color and thickness. You then stack them neatly in rows on top of each other until they're all stacked up nicely (pictured below). This is a great way for bright colored ankle socks to stand out!

2) Staircase Method

In order to get a finely tuned sock drawer, it's important that you know how to fold socks. The Staircase Method is an easy way for socks and will save your time in the long run. It works with any type of sock and is particularly beneficial when you have a lot of socks. Here's how it works! 1) Take all your socks and line them up from longest on one side to shortest on another side. 2) Take your longest sock and place it on top of your next longest sock, making sure they are both facing the same direction, then take your third longest sock and place it on top of these two, again making sure they are both facing the same direction.

3) Accordion Fold

Fold your socks accordion style by folding one sock back on itself so that it forms a long horizontal strip. Then take the other sock and fold it in half so that you have two strips, one on top of each other. Now overlap them, placing one strip over the other with about an inch or two overlapping and then tuck it under. Repeat this process for as many pairs of socks as you need to fold, then put them into a drawer with their folded tops facing outwards.

4) Over the Door Hanger Method

By organizing your dress socks in an under bed storage container, it will free up space in your sock drawer and keep them from getting lost. Plus, you can take a peek and see what color socks you need to wear with an outfit, if you're running late for work.

5) Under Bed Storage

There are many benefits to folding socks, but one of the best is that it can make your life easier. If you're short on space, like in a dorm or small apartment, then this is a great way to save room. Folding also saves you time from having to sort through all your socks in order for you to find that one sock that matches perfectly with your outfit for the day. And if you have a full-time job and then come home with an armful of groceries, it's not necessary for you to unload them all onto your couch before grabbing what you need. You can quickly grab any item from within arm's reach without taking up any more space.
