Plant Seeds in a Pot

What's a good way to spend an hour on a Saturday morning? Get outside and plant some seeds in your own pot! There are many different types of plants that you can choose from. You'll need a pot, potting soil, and seeds. Planting is easy as you just need to dig a hole and add dirt to it until it's about 3-5 inches deep. Add water to moisten the dirt, then place your seed in the hole with a little bit of dirt over it. Fill in around the seed with more dirt and pack down firmly so that there is no loose dirt on top. Make sure that your pot has holes at the bottom for drainage or else you will have water pooling at the bottom which will kill your seedlings after they sprout!

Save Water

The average American washes their hands for 10 seconds. We've created a guide to help you save water by washing your hands more efficiently.
- Wash Your Hands For 10 Seconds - The average American washes their hands for only 10 seconds, but handwashing should take at least 20 seconds to remove germs and bacteria.
- Soak Your Hands In Water Before Washing - Before you start scrubbing your hands, soak them in clean water so it can soften the dirt or grease on your skin and make it easier to wash off. - Rinse Your Hands Thoroughly When Done - You should also rinse your hands thoroughly when done, as soap can leave residue on your skin that will dry out your skin and cause problems like eczema or dermatitis.

Cool Your Feet on Hot Days

This summer is going to be really hot, and you might find yourself in need of a way to cool your feet down. While a cold shower will do the trick, if you don't have time for that, try putting on some socks! The material will soak up sweat and keep your feet dry. If you want to take it one step further, put on some ice socks before bed so they can stay cold all night long.

Chill Wine Quickly

Chill your wine quickly with these simple steps. Place a large, clean towel in the bottom of a bucket. Fill the bucket with ice cubes, water and wine. If you don't have a bucket on hand, use any old container that is bigger than your bottle of wine. Add more ice cubes if you need to keep it cold for longer. The towel will absorb heat from the bottle, slowing down how fast it warms up. Now just sit back and enjoy!

Make a Fire Starter

A fire starter is a device to start a fire. A good fire starter may be one that is highly combustible, such as paper and kindling. Another example of a good fire starter would be a ferrocerium rod, which can create sparks to ignite tinder. To make your own ferrocerium rod, you will need some steel wool and copper wire. Begin by wrapping the copper wire around both sides of the steel wool and twist it with pliers until it's tightly wound. Next, cut off about an inch from one end for tinder to catch on, then simply strike this end with your knife blade or any other hard metal object to produce sparks that will light your tinder on fire!

Use as Kitchen Scissors

Kitchen scissors are an underrated tool that are perfect for cutting up all your food. Using these instead of a knife can help cut down on the risk of chopping into your skin, plus they're much more versatile!
Cutting up an onion is easier with scissors because you don't have to worry about stabbing yourself with a knife. Scissors also work well for opening cans and breaking down boxes for recycling, so it's not just about food! They're also great for cutting fabric or trimming hair.
The best part is you can use them over and over again, so they'll last forever. Plus, they won't dull as quickly as a knife might and will stay sharp for years.

Use as Slippers

Living in a house with people and pets, there will be times when socks are getting worn out. If you've got bad smells coming from your clothes or shoes, first try airing them outside in the sun for a few hours to see if that helps. If not, then it's time to take action. Use white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on your clothes or shoes; this is an old trick that really does work! You can also burn old socks that have bad smells in them to get rid of the odor at home. It's easy and quick. Just put them into a bowl of hot water and set a match next to them until they catch on fire!

Freshen Shoes

Mens ankle socks are a great solution for people who want to freshen their shoes without washing. The ankle area is typically less dirty than other parts of your shoe, so it's a good spot for what we like to call quick dry. Plus, there's nothing quite like wearing fresh socks and knowing that you can do it whenever you need! Mens colorful socks are also a great way to freshen your shoes because they're made from durable material and will last for many months. You can also use mens purple ankle socks or any other color if you prefer.

Hide Valuables from Family/Guests

If you know that your family or guests are coming over and they're people who can't resist poking around in places they shouldn't, it might be a good idea to hide any valuables out of sight. You could store them in a chest or cabinet that you keep locked, or even hide them inside an ottoman or storage box. Just make sure you've cleared this with the other person before they get there so they don't feel like you're being sneaky.
1) Put your valuables away in a hidden spot well before anyone gets there.
2) Make sure to let people know where your valuables are when they come over.

Burn Them to Get Rid of Bad Odors

It's pretty common to come home to a smelly house after being out all day. But, who wants to buy an expensive air freshener when you can use socks? Burning socks is a great, cheap way to get rid of bad odors. First, find some old socks (the more holes in them, the better). Next, cut off the top and pull out any cotton that might be inside. Finally light the end of one sock with a match or lighter and place it on top of the other sock like an accordion (do this outdoors!). Once they've both been lit up for about two minutes, blow them out and allow them to cool down before putting them in your drawer or closet.
