Philosockphy's Sock of the Month Club: 5 Unique Ways to Fold Your Socks

How you fold your socks can make or break your sock drawer. If you just stick them in willy-nilly, they’ll quickly get lost, wrinkled and end up paired with the wrong partners! We’ve put together the perfect sock club to give you 5 unique ways to fold your socks so that everything in your drawer will look neat and organized every time you open it up. Here are our top picks for the five best sock-folding methods!

#1. The Single Roll

The Single Roll is a great way to fold your socks if you're not looking for something too flashy, but want something that looks nice and is easy on the eyes. When you first start folding your socks, it can be a bit tricky. But all you need is one single roll and a sock liner, like the ones found in our monthly sock subscription packages, or a scarf to do this technique. The idea behind this technique is that the inside of the sock will have more space than when they are folded over themselves with other items in them- which means less wrinkles!

#2. The Double Roll

Did you know it takes less time to fold your socks when you roll them in a double roll? To do so, place two socks on top of one another and then fold them in half. Unfold one sock and place it on top, and then fold that sock in half as well. Unfold the other sock and put it on top, rolling both socks together into one tube shape. Repeat this process with the second pair of socks until you have a stack of neatly rolled socks at hand.

#3. The Deluxe Roll

The Deluxe Roll is a great way to store your socks in a drawer. Simply fold one sock over and lay it on top of the other, like you are making an ice cream cone with your hands. The Deluxe Roll is best for socks that are similar in color as well as thickness, because you will not be able to see which pair is which when they are inside each other. This method also takes up less space than if you were to roll your socks individually.

#4. The Curly Wurlitzer

This is a pretty simple method and is perfect for any men with curly hair. Just roll your socks up into a ball, then roll it in both directions on its side as you go. Repeat this process until you have a nice curl. This style works best with thicker socks, or ankle socks.

This is another classic method that has been around since the 1600s, and it has never gone out of style. Just fold your sock in half and then tuck it inside itself as you go. The end result should be an attractive V shape. This technique works well with any type of sock, but thick ankle socks work best because they will stay curled longer than thin dress socks will.

This technique looks like a classic bow tie!

#5. Basket Weave

The Basket Weave is a very easy way to fold socks. Simply take one sock and place it on top of the other, lining up their toes. Now place your hands in between and make a basket shape with your fingers, then push down gently so that both socks are neatly folded in half. Then flip the left hand over so that you have one sock on either side of your hands. Flip your right hand over and do the same thing, then hold them together for a few seconds before letting go so that they stay neat inside each other. The Basket Weave is perfect for everyday use since it doesn't leave any creases or wrinkles which could cause damage to your socks!
