The trend of monthly sock subscriptions started back in 2009 when a company called Bombas was founded on a simple idea: socks are one of life's most important and useful items, but no one ever remembers to buy them. They started with socks, but eventually expanded their product line to include t-shirts and underwear. More recently (in 2016), another company called Darn Good Yarn launched a monthly subscription service for knitting supplies that has become popular among knitters. How we decided who would wear what socks
A few weeks ago, we decided to let our customers decide who would wear what socks. We created a poll on social media, which included a photo of two pairs of socks. And we asked our followers to vote for their favorite pair by clicking on it. The winning pair was announced on our company's Instagram page and sent out to all subscribers within 24 hours.
This contest has created some great buzz among our loyal customers, plus it has boosted our social media following with new followers from all over the world who are eager to see what kind of socks will be coming their way next month.
