5 Ideas for Folding Your Socks
5 Ideas for Folding Your Socks
When it comes to socks, simplicity is key. There’s no need to spend hours folding your socks into origami shapes or color-coordinating them by their day of the week, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have any fun with them either! Here are five great ways to fold your socks, from the truly practical and organizational to the wildly creative and artistic. Which one will you try first?
1) I only wear socks during winter
Life can be tough. But it is made easier by a simple, but incredible invention: socks. To keep your feet toasty in winter, socks are one of those life necessities you cannot leave home without. You may have heard of sock subscriptions, where people get an actual pair of hand-picked socks delivered to their house every month? And if you're like me and only wear socks during winter, maybe these great ideas will be useful for you too! 1) Philosockphy - Have a bit more fun with your regular dress shoes by adding some funny, colorful or cute unique socks. It's called Philosockphy!
2) A Philosockphy.com/collections/socks-club">sock of the month club
A Philosockphy.com/collections/socks-club">sock of the month club is a subscription service that sends you socks each month based on your specific size and preference. If you’re looking to learn how to fold socks, it’s a great way to receive new socks without having to worry about buying them. Just be sure to keep tabs on when your next shipment is scheduled. There are lots of monthly sock subscriptions out there, so make sure you read up on reviews before committing. Ohh also be wary of any subscription service that charges an exorbitant amount extra if you end up wanting more than one pair per month.
3) Philosophy behind sock folding
I’m all about a sock subscription. For those who don’t know, it’s when you sign up to have a new pair of socks sent to your door every month. It doesn’t matter if it’s mid-year and you have no sock holes; one arrives anyway. (My favorite: Bombas, which is owned by several Philadelphia Eagles players.) There are lots of socks out there on subscription now, but here are some other ways to fold your socks. I think they look better and make finding your perfect pair of socks easier. Plus, they fit into tight shoe boxes better!
4) How to fold socks
If you hate folding socks, or are always worried that you're doing it wrong, take heart: there's a simple alternative. Subscribe to a Philosockphy.com/collections/socks-club">sock of the month club and have them arrive at your door pre-folded and stored in plastic. You'll never have to worry about whether you got your socks twisted again. Most clubs will provide bags to keep them in, as well; no more haphazard sock storage in your dresser drawer! Of course, if you've made it all the way through high school geometry class, then some thoughtful presentation of similarly-colored pairs is going to make everything easy for everyone else.
5) Compromising with the laundry machine
Lots of people hate washing their clothes in a shared laundry machine. Compromising is key when it comes to folding your socks; a lot of sock subscriptions on sites like Philosockphy will let you pay monthly, bi-monthly or yearly in order to have clean socks delivered to your door. If you’re not too keen on having an arsenal of unwashed socks sent to your door, consider compressing two pairs together; using a cotton ball or tissue paper can help absorb moisture and make sure they don’t lose their shape over time. Another compromise that works is buying larger sized shirts and folding them over (such as button-up shirts) so that they look neat and proper without adding any extra bulk.
