What Is a No Show sock?

A no show sock is a type of sock that sits just below your shoe. A no show sock is typically thinner than a dress sock, but may be thicker than an ankle sock. A no show sock is often made from elasticized fabric that stretches over your foot to hold it in place under your shoe. No show socks are often used as part of a business dress code, such as at law firms where they're required by some companies to avoid showing any skin above the shoe line.
No show socks are also great for summertime because they're lightweight and breathable, making them perfect for warm weather wear with sandals or flip-flops. Plus, you won't have to worry about them falling down around your ankles while you're out and about!

How to wear no show socks with shoes.

The term no show means that these socks will not rise above your ankle, making them perfect to wear with dress shoes. Here are three do's and three don'ts when wearing no show socks with dress shoes:
-Do wear a black sock with brown shoes. Black goes well with any color, so it is a safe bet.
-Don't wear stripes. Wearing stripes on your ankles will only draw attention to them, and we're trying to avoid that!
-Do wear some funky fun socks underneath simple dress shoes like navy flats or brown loafers. These more conservative pieces can be dressed up by adding some color to the bottom of your feet!
